I believe in accountability whether I'm managing others in the development process or just myself. Developing a product and working in cross-functional teams means there are lots of moving parts, none of which can fall through the cracks. I have developed this product development deliverables and accountability checklist which captures the when and who of the key project deliverable points through the process. I use basecamp as my online groupware solution to share and track progress, as well as the collection point for bids, quotes, techpacks and all other project documentation. Through Basecamp, the development checklist is turned into a shared doc that can be updated by all team members with final accountability to the assigned developer. The entire team has complete visibility as to deliverable due dates and who has been assigned what duties.  This checklist can be tailored in any way to reflect the product, project or team needs. Below are examples of blank and completed checklists.
